Patients’ Rights

Access to affordable health care is a crisis in our community as well as the nation.  However, the health care crisis is not just about money to pay for health care, it is also about the ability to get the care one is entitled to under various insurance plans.  This includes medicaid or the Oregon Health Plan, as well as medicare, VA medical care and private insurance.

Unfortunately, people get denied health care that they should not.  However, if one exercises one’s rights effectively one is more likely to get the medical care that is already paid for on his or her behalf.  CEA helps people learn about what their rights are under their health plan and how to exercise them.  Getting good health care takes effort and knowledge.  Sharing stories and solutions is one way to get that.
